About Coach Dominic
Although I’d been fairly athletic all my life, I was never exactly, umm… a stand out. I was your third place finisher in the swimming pool, the second string replacement on the soccer field, and in little league – well, let’s just not go there, ok? So it wasn’t surprising when I hit my mid-twenties that I just sort of accepted the common notion that I had already “peaked” athletically, and that from here on out it would be a gradual decline into middle age and death and let’s just try to not get to fat along the way. Stuff of dreams, huh?
Well, that all changed when I met Tony. I was new to town, was an acquaintance of Tony through a friend, and found out that he was a ski buff. Now, skiing had been the ONE sport where I considered myself above average. So when he had a last minute drop-out on a ski trip I jumped at the chance. Tony and his good buddy Steve Eckholdt who – and I’m sure they’ll forgive me for saying this - are about a decade older than me – and they left me in the dust the entire trip. I’d never been pushed so hard on the slopes before – and I was amazed to find out that these guys were actually getting better as they got older. Slow decline into middle age? Not so much. Obviously I had been missing something.
So when Tony invited me to join the original P90 group, again I jumped at the chance. And then I jumped again at P90X… and I’m still jumping. Life can be a wonderful ride – take a leap.
Come join us. The original P90X’ers (Fifer, Erik, myself) and the-skier-I-aspire-to-be Steve, are doing the entire P90X program again, front to back, start to finish. If you’re curious, come check us out at…., where we’ll be chronicaling our journey through push-ups, presses, stretches, and yes, more jumping. If you’re feeling a bit more adventuresome, you can jump in WITH us, each day on WOWY.
